Several people have asked how they can contribute to Good Shepherd. Donations can be weekly, monthly, quarterly, or even once a year. There are several ways to do so, depending on which is easiest for you.

Direct transfer from investment funds
Individuals age 70 1/2 and older can distribute otherwise taxable traditional and Roth IRA amounts directly to certain tax-exempt charities. These distributions are called qualified charitable distributions (QCDs). They are federal income tax-free to the donor and qualify as your RMD for the year of distribution. Obtain the advice of your tax and/or financial professional to see if this tax-saving opportunity fits your particular situation.
