Welcome to my virtual space for musings about Christian ministry, the church, and this congregation, in particular. Balancing earnest, respectful conversation about God’s work in the world with acknowledging the absurdity of daily life is essential to both faithful living and to operating in a world that (often) acts like it doesn’t know God.
I take seriously the Christian commitment to live faithfully in the world for the sake of the world God loves. At the same time, I also hold this commitment lightly, trusting that being able to joke about it is, as G.K. Chesterton said, “a test of a good religion .”
I hope the words I fashion here will be helpful to seekers and members alike; or at least that readers will know that someone cares enough to want to have honest dialogue about such things.
