Fr. Travis (Doug) is President Emeritus of the Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest in Austin where he served as President. Prior to that Doug served four parishes, two of them as rector.
Fr. Travis graduated cum laude with honors in religion from Trinity University in San Antonio. Additionally he holds four graduate degrees, including a Doctor of Ministry from the Perkins School of Theology at SMU. In his studies he focused mostly on Christian spirituality and mysticism. In 2008 Fr. Travis was granted an honorary doctorate by The General Theological Seminary in New York.
Doug’s primary interest is in the manner in which spiritual practice lends itself to personal transformation.
Doug and his wife, Pam, have been married for 45 years. Pam is an attorney with the Environmental Protection Agency. They have two adult daughters. Sasha is an actor and Nyssa is a psychotherapist.
The Rev'd Cindy Ruiz is our newly assigned Deacon. Cindy lives in Fort Worth with her husband and three children. She is full of excitement, new ideas, has a heart for those who are disadvantaged and is excited to be joining us. She is an ordained deacon, has numerous awards, titles, certifications and degrees, which are too many to mention in a short message.
Leslie Guinn, long time parish member and now a newly ordained priest, has joined our staff. Leslie will continue leading Book Group meetings (via Zoom until indoor restrictions are lifted).
Dr. Iwao Asakura is a renowned conductor and a tenured music faculty member at Tarleton State University.
Gary Millhollon is our Senior Warden of the Vestry.
